Last week we attended the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Amsterdam.
This was both very exciting for me, as this was the first time ever I attended a fashion week, and for Christel because this was the first thing we did together as the new It Takes 2 to Fashion duo.
Afgelopen week zijn we naar de Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Amsterdam geweest. Dit was zowel voor mij erg spanned, omdat dit mijn eerste fashion week ooit was, als voor Christel omdat dit het eerste event was dat we als nieuw It Takes 2 to Fashion duo hebben bezocht,
Yes you heard that right. We are both very sorry that Hanna stopped blogging, but we think we make a great team and we'll take the blog to a whole new level! Because you know, it takes 2 to fashion.
More of that later, now back to the shows.
Ja inderdaad, nieuw duo. We vinden het allebei super jammer dat Hanna gestopt is met bloggen, maar we denken dat we een geweldig team zullen zijn en de blog naar een heel nieuw niveau kunnen tillen. Want je weet, it takes 2 to fashion.
Saturday 12 July Truus and Riet Spijkers presented their newest SIS collection. This Spring Summer '15 collection is called 'I shall dance all my life...'. Wich is a quote from Josephine Baker, the muse for this colorful and playful summer collection.
Zaterdag 12 july presenteert Truus en Riet Spijkers hun nieuwe SIS collectie. De nieuwe 2015 zomer collectie genaamd 'I shall dance all my life..' Naar een quote van Josephine Baker, de inspiratie voor deze kleurrijke en speelse collectie.
Josephine Baker was the first African American women who became an international star (in the beginning of 20th century). You probably heard of her at some point in your live, she was the one who danced in a banana skirt and owned a pet cheetah with a diamond collar named Chiquita.
Josephine Baker was de eerste afro Amerikaanse vrouw die wereld beroemd werd als danseres (begin 20ste eeuw). Je hebt vast ooit wel eens van haar gehoord, zijn was het meisje dat danste in bananen rokjes en had een cheeta als huisdier met een diamante halsband genaamd Chiquita.

This influence is clearly seen in the used prints, we've seen a lot of little cheetahs on simple cut skirts and blouses. We really loved the very wearable pieces with the Kenzo inspired prints.
What I loved most were the trouser suits, short jackets and short trousers in the same fabric, deff something I need to get my hands on.
Haar invloed is duidelijk te zien in de gebruikte print, we hebben een heleboel kleine cheeta's gezien op simpel gesneden rokken en jasjes. We waren erg weg van de draagbare stukken met Kenzo geïnspireerde prints.
Het geen ik het leukste vond waren de broekpakken, korte jasjes en korte broekjes in de zelfde print. Iets dat zeker weten in mijn kledingkast thuis hoort.

Afterwards we enjoyed our well deserved free time (sitting and watching beautiful clothes walk by is very hard work) with some cocktails.
Na de show hebben we genoten van onze welverdiende vrije tijd (ja, stil zitten en kijken naar prachtige kleren die voorbijkomen is heel hard werk) met een paar cocktails.
